Delayed Updates… Series Name Change & Projects

It's ages since I posted, which is incredibly bad of me. And I CANNOT believe how much time has passed… yikes!

I am working on a couple of writing projects, one of which is a paranormal part of, but not sequential, to the Palaces Of The Vampire Damned world. It will be a full length novel and is the reason I changed the name of the series from A Vampire Forsaken to Palaces Of The Vampire Damned. In the context of the novel, and the direction the stories were taking, it was much more appropriate, and hell, I liked it better :) I had to set the book aside for too damned long but it's now back on track, together with my writing schedule. I had hoped to get it finished a long time back but Life intervened. Nuff said.

Anyways, so far the stories have ranged from a long short story/novelette (Blood Moon Of The Incubus) to the novellas which form titles 1–3. From memory (dodgy I admit!) the 3rd and last (so far) in the series, Blood Flesh Gold was around 35000 words. I really want to write the next instalment after Blood Flesh Gold, it's a matter of finding writing time. I really loved writing Ethan and Selene's story, and get a kick out of the other characters –  the ferocious Agrippina, Blaise, Mina and yeah, kind of a favourite of mine, Marius.

Marius plays an important role in the novel I'm working on and it's fun. He is such a contained, world weary and yet strangely moral character.

Also, I've switched the look of the covers. I'm also a graphic designer which is good and bad … it's too tempting to change things up and just go for it, although, great not having to go to someone else!

Okay, that's it for now… I hope you enjoy the titles and get a kick out of them. I know I really enjoyed creating that world and am having a fabulous time sinking back into it again.

xoxo

Updates... 2014! & Blood Moon

Hello lovelies,

Quick update. With Christmas madness behind us, I am powering on with my standalone Jazz-age, Forsaken entwined novel. It is packed with all things fun: angels, witches, and tormented vampires. Hell, when was a vamp not tormented ;-)

I'm having lots of fun writing it and it will be pubbed in January. If I can manage it, the first half.

BLOOD MOON OF THE INCUBUS... It's still up at Kobo but I've taken it down elsewhere and will be repubbing it in January as well.

I am SERIOUSLY considering adding a TV and movie page to this blog, considering the general bloody mindedness all about me (this is Oz, so we're out of sync with the rest of the world on this score) about the lack of an air date for Sherlock series 3. Not to mention, I am surrounded by movie and TV buffs and can nerd out with the best of them. Especially on this one.

Ah well. It's Sunday here, we've shovelled in a mighty late breakfast, music is blasting, gardening is about to be done because it's actually looking like summer, & I'm about to hit the next chapter of the book so I'll finish snarking :-)

Anyone who watches That Show will understand my gripe, anyone who doesn't, just humour me!

Have a great weekend everyone and a brilliant 2014!

X.

The Blood Chronicles (A Vampire Forsaken Anthology Vols 1 – 3)

Happy Friday the Thirteenth guys!

Here in Australia it is already, anyways...

I've been delayed in posting about The Blood Chronicles with the mad rush of Christmas, but I rolled the first 3 A Vampire Forsaken novella's into an anthology (I think it's around 87,800+ words). It's out now at Amazon & Smashwords, and should be at other retailers shortly. UPDATE: now available through all, check OUTLET's page.

I really enjoyed writing the Chronicles, especially the characters in it. There are some sinfully hot alpha males in there but the women are pretty alpha too – Blaise is one sexy beast but I don't think you'd want to cross Agrippina :)

I'm not a fan of the doormat female character and I guess it comes through. I am continuing the A Vampire Forsaken series with the fallout of the story of Ethan & Selene.

Before that though, I have a fun full length novel interlinked, but very much apart from, the Forsaken world. It has vampires, angels, witches, hot jazz and a cool retro setting. It will be out in January after way too many delays.

If you enjoyed The Blood Chronicles, drop me a line or say hi at my Facebook or Goodreads page.

And if you are into reviewing, go for it – for better or worse :( . As an indie author it is super important.

May all of your presents be extravagant and exactly what you wanted!

Huge merry Christmas,

Xan

(Oh, and yes, a change of cover art style for the Chronicles. I like it, it's kinda hip!)

Blood Chronicles blurb following:

Some loves are never meant to die... And time without end can be a curse without the burning heart of obsession and lust.

Blaise de Sevigny is a 500 year old vampire in thrall to his sire, the ferocious and yet fragile Agrippina, once a slave in ancient Rome. Living with them is the enigmatic Marius. Marius, who sometimes partakes in the erotic games Agrippina favours, and who now joins the lovers in their war against fellow vampire Van Buren's trade in the human misery of opium and slavery.

Spanning the bone white mansions of London's 1892 Mayfair through to a Sydney summer torn apart by vampire turf wars, the Blood Chronicles bind together angelic witches, millennia old vampires, Viking warrior goddesses and very human rock stars.

Mina, half angel, half witch, is drawn into the survivors orbit and pays a price in blood to win a reward beyond dreams. Marius, once her protector, would use her supreme Otherworld gifts for his own purpose. One that may kill her.

And Ethan Canning, a hot rock star with a broken heart, loses himself in the icy, sensual chill of Viking goddess and rapacious vampire Selene.

Blood Moon of the Incubus : A Vampire Forsaken Prequel

Just published, a novelette length (13,000 words + bonus goodies) prequel to the A Vampire Forsaken titles. It features the ambitious witch Melusine, a very sexy incubus, and the vampire triad of Agrippina, Blaise de Sevigny and Marius from the first story, Blood Lust Blood Lost. Set in Venice in 1825, it gives a backstory to Melusine's entry as a destructive force in the trio's lives in 1892...

REVIEWS: my lovelies, if you leave a review for any of my titles, send a link to xanasher@gmail.com, and I will send you a review copy of any of my existing titles (nominate whichever), or an advance review copy of one of my upcoming ones. This is on the proviso that you review them honestly, for better or worse.

... And yes, I did allow my curiosity about Melusine's past to slow up work on my Forsaken interlinked novel. Jazz age Paris is delicious to write about though, and that, and Tallulah's story, the sequel to Succubus In Scarlet, are the next two cabs off the rank.

Blood Flesh Gold : A Vampire Forsaken 3

Just published... After way too long from the Forsaken world I've finally been able to continue the entwined stories of icy, enigmatic Marius, angelic Mina and dominant, masterful Blaise ... not to mention new players, rock star Ethan Canning and Selene, Viking warrior goddess turned vamp.

Oh, and a ghost that is hungry for life, at ANY cost. Dark magick, wild lust, love, and souls for barter ensue. Nuff said!

I had tons of fun with this and hope you do too. Their story will continue...

COVER REDESIGN: Oh, and for those that may have read Blood Lust Blood Lost or Blood Sex Magick, they've had a cover redesign. I've moved the Forsaken series away from the sepia look.

Right now I'm overcompensating big-time for the break from their world. I'm finishing up a separate novel interlinked with some of the Forsaken characters. It feeds into my love of history, research, and the roaring, arty twenties. I'm more envious than ever of those émigrés to Paris in the twenties who sampled that amazing city in that astonishing decade.

It's even wilder when you throw in guardian angels, illicit love, vampires, and the full panoply of the supernatural world. Wicked fun. Out soon.

Blood Sex Magick : A Vampire Forsaken 2

This is the second in the Vampire Forsaken series. I wrote it, as I did all the Vampire Forsaken titles, so that it can be read totally as a standalone, but with the intent the Forsaken story be followed through all of the Vampire Forsaken novellas.

All of them have a building history, threads of story and certain of the cast of characters that follow through from Blood Lust Blood Lost, and survive (in one form or another ;-) through into Blood Flesh Gold.

Here you go with the blurb... and more of the uber sexy alpha Blaise de Sevigny...

AN EROTIC VAMPIRE ROMANCE... Sequel to Blood Lust Blood Lost.

Australia, present day

Mina Lees, half fallen angel, wholly witch and freshly in possession of her powers, has been given one task.

Steal the infamous, supernatural object, the Vial of Agrippina, for the warlock Stephen Rafferty, or die.

The only problem: it hangs about the neck of magnificent master vampire Blaise de Sevigny. All who have attempted its theft before have died.
But Blaise has an allure Mina cannot resist and she knows that either way, her life hangs in the balance.
Even with her powers, stealing the Vial will kill her. If she succumbs to Blaise, his gallery of enemies will become hers. The battle about to break out in the vampire world will also become hers.

And either way, the Vial of Agrippina remains the most powerful and hunted object in the supernatural universe. What will be its fate?

Blood Lust Blood Lost : A Vampire Forsaken 1

I gotta admit, of all the Vampire Forsaken titles, this one actually had me sitting at the computer teary eyed as I finished writing it ... and I'm a tough broad! ... if you've read it you may understand what I mean by waterworks (I hope, or I haven't done my job as a writer very well).

It's the only historical of the series (update: bar the prequel, Blood Moon of the Incubus), and is set in 1892. I do love history and researching the tons of small details.

It does have what would have been one of the vampire worlds hottest couples, Agrippina and Blaise. Or menages, actually, considering the delicious and mysterious Marius. I had great fun writing this even if it did make me go all sob city at the end, goddammit!

It is totally standalone though, so there are no wicked cruel cliffhangers. If one slice of the chocolate cake keeps you going, you're set. HOWEVER, the characters, in one form or another, do continue through the successive titles in the A Vampire Forsaken series, so if you've fallen for Aggie, Blaise, Marius or are just plain curious about what happens next, keep going, because more wild stuff and Otherworldly and earthly characters are in store...

I'll key in the blurb here, lotsa lurve, X.

AN EROTIC VAMPIRE ROMANCE...

‘Time slowed as if the Gods had stopped an eternal clock, held their fingers, stilling, upon its mechanical, relentless hands … The silver cap had mutated, reformed, curled in sinuous silver claws about the blood filled glass claw itself, sealing it shut, tight. Secure.’

London, 1892

Blaise de Sevigny, 500 year old vampire, exists in decadent splendour in the Mayfair mansion he shares with his lover, the notorious, formidable Agrippina. Agrippina, known also as the Whore of Rome from her days as a slave in that city, milleniums before, and their friend and associate, the cool and enigmatic Marius.
All hell is about to break loose in the vampire world. A vampire druglord is determined to expand his empire and exploit all human weakness. The three have vowed to stop him. Before the battle is over human innocents will have been slaughtered, the trio will be torn apart, and nothing will be the same again within the vampire universe.
